Delete from the app

If you have the OpenRides app installed, this is the quickest way:

1. Open the app and go to the Account tab.
2. Scroll down and tap Delete account.
3. Confirm when prompted. Your personal data is removed straight away and you are signed out.

Request deletion without the app

If you no longer have the app installed, you can still ask us to delete your account. Email us at support@openrides.in or use our contact form with the subject “Account deletion”. Please include the email address or mobile number registered on your account so we can verify the request. We will action verified requests within 30 days and confirm once it is done.

What we remove

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:

• your sign-in credentials, so the account can no longer be logged into;
• your contact details — email address and mobile number;
• your date of birth and address;
• your driving-licence number and uploaded licence & ID document images;
• saved passkeys and push-notification tokens.

Your account is anonymised rather than left in place — it cannot be signed into or reactivated afterwards.

What we keep, and why

Your past bookings and issued invoices are retained as required tax, accounting and legal records (including GST retention obligations), with the limited details the law requires us to keep on an invoice. Everything else that identifies you is removed as described above. This retention is a legal requirement and applies however you request deletion.

Before you delete

You will need to cancel or complete any active bookings first. If a booking is still in progress, we cannot delete the account until it is finished or cancelled.

How long it takes

Deleting from the app takes effect immediately. Requests sent by email or the contact form are processed within 30 days. This deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
